Be a Mentor

Mentoring others is at the heart of what it means to make disciples. The reason these common growth steps are called “acorns” is because they are “seed” experiences that we have designed for you to “plant” in others once you’ve experienced them. Leading someone through an acorn experience is just one way to be a mentor. Disciple-making is about teaching others what you know—anything of value you can teach someone else to do or become. How will you invest in someone else?

Suggestions:

  • Mentor a new believer (ask Pastor Steve).
  • Start a Kids Outdoor Zone group for boys (ask Pastor Steve).
  • Befriend/mentor a younger married couple (if married)
  • Befriend/mentor a younger single person (if single)
  • Flourish women’s mentoring program (Ask Carolyn)
  • Recruit someone to your area of service and show them how you do it.
