We have two goals with our children’s ministry:
Children from preschool to 4th grade gather together for “Shine Time” in the common children’s area (located on the second floor of the main building; enter through the office entrance). “Shine Time” is for singing and fun, before breaking up into individual classes: Pre-K, K-1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd-4th grade. In these classes, dedicated teachers introduce kids to the foundations of the faith—the books of the Bible, God’s great story, and the gospel—as kids connect with other kids who will support them along the way.
Kids (age 3 through 4th grade) begin worship with their parents in the sanctuary before being dismissed to children’s worship. At children’s worship, kids have their own worship experience, with music and age-appropriate activities to reinforce biblical truth and engage kids in living the way Jesus teaches.
On the 2nd and 5th Sundays of the month, kids are invited into the worship service to worship with their families. This opportunity connects kids to their parents’ faith and other adults. Family worship on 2nd Sundays is kindergarten and up. Family worship on 5th Sundays also includes preschoolers. (Nursery for ages 2 and under is provided for every service).
Wednesday nights serve as first steps for our kids as they learn the basics of following Jesus. Kids learn the same principles as the adults in our discipleship process through age-appropriate games and lessons from the Bible and from Christian heroes from history.
Infants and toddlers through age 2 have a dedicated area just for them during Sunday school, worship, and Wednesday night. We believe no child is too young to begin to learn about God’s love for them. Little ones play and learn in a caring, safe environment made just for them.
